Grimes Public Library

Grimes Public Library is currently closed to the public, but our staff are hard at work to provide you with you as many services as public safety allows.

Book Take-Out

Book Take-Out is taking place on certain days. Check facebook for our weekly schedule.

Digital Cards

While we’re closed, Grimes and rural Polk County residents (who don’t already have a library card) can sign up for a digital card to get access to the library’s eBooks & eAudiobooks (from BRIDGES or hoopla), streaming movies & TV, and other online resources. Complete the application and we’ll reach out with details and instructions.

E-books, Audiobooks, and Movies

Many digital platforms are expanding their services to meet the growing online need. Click here for links to expanded online resources!

Reading Challenge

Looking to keep your kids reading over the next few weeks? Or already reading, and looking for a fun way to track those minutes? Check out our Spring Reading Challenge! If you have completed Summer Reading, Winter Reading, or 1000 Books before Kindergarten at Grimes Public Library, you already have a Beanstack account. Message us if you need help with your login!

Virtual Programming

Our librarians are hosting virtual programs and storytimes posted both to facebook and our website as events.
