The 2018 midterm elections are quickly approaching. All 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be contested.

Grimes residents will vote on November 6th at the United Methodist Church. Many voters, however, choose to vote early. The Grimes Public Library provides early voting October 15th through the 31st. Early voting hours are:

  • Mon. – Fri. 10am – 4pm
  • Sat., Oct. 27 10am – 4pm

Though not required until January 2019, registered voters will be asked to show photo identification before voting at the polls. You can verify you are registered to vote on the Iowa Secretary of State website or calling the Polk County Election Office at 515-286-3247. Voters may also register to vote at the polls by providing photo identification and current proof of residence (if different than that on your ID.)

Early voting will take place in the Library’s meeting room. No reservations for that space will be taken during early voting.
