Winter Reading Wrap-Up

Posted on: February 12, 2016 | By: grimes

Winter Reading wrapped up just a couple weeks ago at the Grimes Public Library. Children, teens, and adults all had their own Winter Reading Programs this year. Children completed activities and reading on their snowflake reading logs, and had their names entered in to our grand prize drawing. Two sleds were raffled off. One sled had a Star Wars pillow with it, and the other had a blanket with characters from “Inside Out” accompanying it. Our winners were so excited to receive their prizes! Congratulations to Addie F. and Jordan L.!

Teens signed up for a Bingo card. Completing a bingo got their name entered to win a movie package, including a movie theater gift card. Participation was great and Max R. won the grand prize! Congratulations, Max R.!

Our adult patrons had a little easier program this year than the kids. For every 3 items they checked out, they put their name in a drawing. We had several people enter more than 8 times each! We were able to raffle off 3 book lights and our grand prize, a $20 Amazon gift card! Our grand prize was won by Vonnie K. Congratulations, Vonnie!

This was our first year for Winter Reading. It was a resounding success with well over 100 participants. Look for details next December for your chance to win more great prizes in our next Winter Reading Program.

Can’t wait that long? Not to worry! Summer Reading is just around the corner. We have another summer packed with games, activities, programs, and, of course, reading! Sign up for Summer Reading at the Grimes Public Library beginning June 1.
